Feng Shui Tips for the Water Rabbit Year

The Water Rabbit is an optimal time to sort out, learn about or amp up your Feng Shui Design

https://adarsashuideva.com/feng-shui-consulting-services/#ser-01

Our immediate environments are a powerful place to start with ‘refining’ our style and what we want to project in our worlds; be that be career, relationship, prosperity etc.  Many of the videos on ‘Radical Feng Shui with Charlyne’  YouTube channel emphasize how our environments are a reflection of our true nature and an extension of our physical bodies. As we become more conscious of self care in 2023, we can take time to find and make sanctuary in our homes and workspaces. We all have the ability to tune into the power of balance and harmony. When we act upon it and create it, the energy and manifestation naturally spill into all our interactions.

Feng Shui /Wind Water / Breath & Sustenance is the essence of who we are. It is not so difficult to see how it can reflect who we want to become. As one of my maters phrased it “It’s often so simple, it takes far too many words to explain it”.

Having said that, I did not choose Feng Shui as a profession, it chose me. This is why I am so grateful to share its wisdom and teachings here as intuited and learned over the years.

To that end, here are a few FENG SHUI tips for 2023:

  • This year it is advised not to embark in major construction in your home or offices. This goes against the peace-loving nature of the Rabbit and its dislike for disturbances. Therefore its thought to bring unfavourable influences.
  • If you decide this is the time for mayor changes, please note that the most unfavourable directions for construction are EAST and WEST in 2023. If possible avoid disturbances in these areas of your home, office or land.
  • Know that facing East in 2023 will bring bring challenges. This can be a desk, chair, lounging seat or yoga mat.
  • The Rabbits discerning energy & patience is in choosing the time to embark on various pursuits. Having your Nine Star Ki Annual chart done will reflect your progression through the year, and the months to take action and what months to withdraw. * link
  • Activate the NW GUA or area if your your home or office if you want to attract Travel and or  Helpful people into your life. Volunteering and giving back to your community is key here as giving always brings auspicious luck, people and opportunities; especially when done with heart.
  • Activate the centre of your home with a Heart shaped rock or Rose Quartz. Placed it in a location that is seen and  make sure you clean and care for it. Cures are to remind us of the intentions & prayers we put into them.
  • Activate the NE GUA of your home or office by placing a found stone or terra cotta item in that location. For example, an Earthen ware vase would be good. As we are advised to be more conservative in 2023, this item is to remind you to seek out and learn new skills for grounding your energy. Forging ahead takes courage and self knowledge. It is what is backs up our momentum when the time is right.
  • Celebrate events in your life by hosting parties that bring together friends, colleagues and people you would like to have in your life. Realizing that we are not all ‘socially inclined’ , know that making the effort is a powerful way to shift energy and step out of your comfort zone. Giving back allows us to be venerable and heals at deep levels.

This is a year of using your Heart mind over your Head mind which draws upon the intuitive aspects of the Rabbit year gifts. This is especially true in a Water year where the subversive , emotional energies are at work. It is why self care, inner knowledge and self reflection is recommended. When we delve into our inner nature, the intuition awakens bringing us into alignment with what we need as opposed to what we think we may want.

What is a Talisman?

Any object infused with the life force energy of the one who creates it. A talisman is intended to protect, heal, or activate intentions for whom they are made. They are often portable objects carried on a person, placed in a space or installed permanently in architecture. Talisman evoke the energy assigned in their creation and intention, as a reminder to the recipient.

I create an annual Talisman based on the animal of the year. I infuse them with prayer, intention, creativity and hope. I make them available on my Web page and specifically suggest they be hung in the direction of the Grand Duke Jupiter, which changes every year. This year he lives in the East, but there is another equal and challenging influence that comes from the West as well this year. Both are considered directions to be aware of, and although I suggest the Water Rabbit Talisman be hung in the East, I would suggest that hanging crystals or special ‘energy infused objects’  of your own choosing, in the West to remind you to be proactive this year.

Know that unsavoury influences we can be shifted by awareness and with a positive attitude. It will take work but in all things in life , when faced with challenges we have only two choices:

  • 1) stand up and be courageous or
  • 2) be diminished and defeated.

Much of the Rabbit energy in 2023 begs us to be ‘discerning, peaceful and proactive’, no matter what the influences of Western or Asian astrology. My Master Dr. Jes Lim always believed we can overcome any negative Astrology with powerful intention and proactivity. Its taken 28 years as a practitioner of these Earth based principles understandings to use and shift my own perceptions and work consciously to educate and assist those open to understanding the influences and how to shift them.

Making Talisman are my way of offering a reminder of the power  & gifts that each year brings, regardless. This years Talisman is infused with Hope, Joy, Clear Intention, and love. Each one is hand made and unique although similar. As it is the Water Rabbit year, the animal imagery reflect this, also the calligraphy and colours chosen.

RABBIT MYTHOLOGY:

As mentioned above the Rabbit has an association with moon energies and the Rabbit in the Moon. One story reveals how this came to be:

It was told, years ago, that the Jade Emperor disguised himself as an old beggar in order to seek a worthy assistant. The Rabbit, not knowing that, unconditionally offered himself to the poor man by jumping int the fire so the man could eat. The Emperor then revealed himself and took the Rabbit to the moon to assist him in creating an elixir of well being and longevity. They used a mortar and pestle to grind the essence of the Jade stone with herbs to create the magical potions for this elixir of life.

Asians see the Rabbit in the moon as a direct effect of this myth. The abundance and good luck of Rabbit are reflected in the Jade stone and its deep rich green colour.

WORLD INFLUENCE:

Overall, the Rabbits influences will encourage us to learn more and step out of our comfort zone when it comes to global energies. Learning about other cultures, and appreciating the finer aspects of cultural diversity and what it offers the human tribe. Rabbits will bring a level of Diplomacy to the world stage in its more peaceful approach. Unlike the energy of last years Tiger, the Rabbit brings encouragement, hope and peace if we allow it.

Seemingly impossible in our monetarily driven world, influenced by an overload of information. It’s far too easy to become overwhelmed within our own personal world much less the global picture. 2023 offers us collectively a time to pause and reflect. Get right in our selves in order to bring more viable solutions to global problems.

We just have to take care not to hide from the obvious and that starts with individual attitude and being the change you want to see. Easily said but the wise words ‘Peace starts within’ is the calling of the Water Rabbits true nature.

OVERALL:

All aspects of the Rabbit seem to be very positive for many in 2023, but we are all individuals with different paths and astrological influences, challenges and habits.

In the predictions, specifically for you Animal and more poignant for your element, there will be many cautions. The potential is there for all of us. It will depend on where we are in life and how open we are to change, personal development and Letting go of all behaviours, material positions and people in our lives that simply don’t serve out ‘higher path’ at this time.

The predictions will shed a more in depth perspective and guide you on your path, so that your Water Rabbit year experience is the best it can be.

FEBRUARY 4th’s Full Moon  & end of  the Lunar New Year

And why is that so special in 2023 ?

Because it is also the turn over date for Nine Star Ki Astrology & the beginning of the Month of the Tiger, which heralds Spring in most Asian Calendars.

The Gregorian calendar, widely used, was only introduced in 1582.  Unlike the ‘Lunisolar’ calendars of many Eastern traditions which include the Hebrew, Korean, Balinese calendars and the Chinese calendar which all refer to natural earth cycles and rhythms. This is the very premise what hundreds of thousands of people celebrate at this time of the year.

For 2023 , know that if we are very clear in our intention setting and goals, it will be a dynamic and successful year for all of us. Not without ups and downs, the Rabbits energy will work with us when we respond to all situations with accountability, clarity and intention.

To fully understand the impact of this coming year and how powerful it can be, allow me to share a bit of background on Nine Star Ki Astrology or what I like to call Feng Shui Astrology, which I use in my practise to better know and assist clients. Knowing Principle, Character and Energetic numbers and the Elements associate with them is also pivotal when doing readings based on Taoist interpretation.

Nine Star Ki is used specifically to interpret an individuals personality traits and impulses in all aspects of life and overlaps the Five Elemental Theory.  The five elemental understanding forms the base of  Qi Gong , Tai Chi, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tibetan Healing , Feng Shui and many Martial Art forms. Its expansiveness allows a partitioner to guide individuals, couples, families and colleagues in areas of Compatibility, Health and Well being, Career, Travel, and Life Goals. It  can also assist individuals in optimal timing for events, launching businesses and  specific directions and timing for movements on the planet.

This form of Astrology ( Nine Star Ki)  has the same ‘start date’ annually of February 4th. YET the Lunar New Years date changes annually.  ‘ The 2023 Water Rabbit Year’, began on the second new moon after the Solstice, as does each lunar new year, and often between Jan 21 and Feb 20th.

If you are not familiar with your animal year check online ‘Chinese Animal Year and Element’ with your birth day and year.  This is especially important if your birthday falls between Jan 1 and Feb 20, as you may be the Animal & Element of the prior year.

In Nine Star Ki tune over date of Feb 4th in the Chinese Calendar is also the first day of the Month of the Tiger and is considered the first day of spring in most Asian Calendar.  When sourcing the three primary personality numbers and elements of an individual, a practitioner will take note of birthdates prior to February 4th, as they will indicate that individuals numbers will be different than if a birthday falls after Feb 4.

“I recently received an awesome Feng Shui Chinese Astrology forecast from Charlyne that was so helpful in planning my schedule for the upcoming year. This forecast was unique to my chart and indicated which months are ideal for traveling (and even what directions are most auspicious for me ) in addition it helped me determine which months are best for launching and promoting my career and personal projects. What a blessing!” ~ Ashala

The Lunar New Year  is not the same each year but Nine Star Ki is a set date.

In 2023 , February 4th 2023 is also the last day of the Lunar New year two week celebratory period. As we start the annual New year on a New Moon, February 4th is also a FULL MOON, which is a rare occurrence. The other synchronistic aspect of this year and date, it’s the Water Rabbits strong alliance with Moon Energy.

I sense that this occurrence, in spite of auspicious and inauspicious stars that may affect us in 2023, that this Full Moon will have a powerful impact on the year. As the Moon regulates water and tides, its subversive, mysterious and emotional symbology can be used to set strong intentions for the year. If we are clear in what we want we can overcome challenges and forge ahead with our goals in a powerful way.

Coincidently, the mid way point between the Solstice and the Equinox is Feb 1st thru to Feb 2nd! All having its own impact and in pagan times celebrated as IMBOLC, marking the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring. Not unlike the FEB 4th Chinese Calendar.

I sense the undercurrents of all these impactive dates can and will have a strong influence on how we perceive the year. Creating clear intentions for what we want to achieves key for the Year of the Water Rabbit.

FOR RABBITS SPECIFICALLY :  With a caution for Roosters!

The Talisman from the Rooster year 2017. Rooster lives directly across from the Rabbit. Roosters must take care in Rabbit years and visa/versa!

Staring off a your animals year is not necessarily easy. When your animal takes the spot light, it’s not often not comfortable, especially for the shy Rabbit. Be clear, know what you want, what projects, dreams and intentions are priority. Only then you can harness the lunar/solar influences of 2023,  achieving all you desire.

DETERMINATION is a Key word for all Rabbits in 2023.

The animal opposite the Rabbit, the Rooster is at a greater risk in 2023. The Rooster holds the position directly across from Rabbit. You are each others nemesis, so you tend not to thrive as well when its the opposite animals year. This year Roosters must be watchful, and take care in all they do; best to lay low!

The 2 week celebratory period is an opportunity to get specific and clear about what serves our higher good for the best outcome. But know as we go from Feb 4 to March 5, the energy of the Tiger’s power is with us. Let’s use this time to create our dreams and pull forth all the best of the Water Tiger influences to get clear about our future.

Moving from Water Tiger to Water Rabbit

The Tiger was a combination of super stealthy, secretive yet exacting in its instincts. The Tiger energy of 2022 exhibited expressiveness and dynamism. For many it was overwhelming, as Tiger has a relentless quest to ‘getting to the bottom of things’ and often when they do, they strike fast.

Tiger keep the ‘ball in play’,  moving us rapidly along at times in spite of the drama of the Water element  evoked. We often felt blindsided in 2023, and this energy persisted. Water is mysterious yet the Rabbits gentle nature will soften any hard edges, challenges or surprises we may encounter.

Once the Rabbits year is in full swing we will be able to look back and assess the affects of 2022. Reflecting on past years we sense a palatable shift from the controlling aspect of the Metal element in 2019 & 2021. Then we  shifted into the Water element of 2022 as Tigers power amplified the secretive aspects of this element. This year though, we can count on the Rabbit to take us on a new journey. Our challenge will be addressing the subliminal and emotional influence of waters presentation, which is why clarity is so vital.

Know that the other strong elemental influence this year is WOOD.  It is the base element of Rabbit, who lives due East on the Chinese Zodiac & aligns with the energy of spring & new beginnings; definitively YANG.

Waters mysterious nature will infuse this yang and innovative Wood element, giving way to growth, shift and some unexpected surprises. Understanding that this is a power energetic ‘elementally’, will assist us  in setting clear intentions and follow through.

Simply knowing what you want creates an infusion of purpose and definition. Practising due diligence for all business ventures, steering clear of conflict and using diplomacy in all areas of your life will serve you well in this Water Rabbit Year

RABBIT QUALITIES and INFLUENCE on 2023

Rabbits are manifest0rs in the most gentle, peaceful and intuitive way. This will be a great assistance to all in 2023. Rabbit’, revered in Asian Cultures, are known to bring good luck and an auspicious influence. Associated with the Moon, it is known as  ‘the Rabbit in the moon’,  not the man in the moon, as we refer to it in the West.

*See More about this in MYTHOLOGY sectioning Part

The moon represents Water and its mystery lies in its nocturnal associations, its ability to affect the tides on the planet and as such, the female reproductive rhythms. The Moon represents the Devine feminine, which is Yin, and infuses Rabbit with intuitive abilities, rejuvenation the restorative energy of sleep and  the dreamtime. This influence will balance out the more Yang aspects of 2023, which represents daybreak and spring; the energy of new beginnings  rebirth and growth.

Rabbits are also know for their intellect and observant nature.  They also have a deep rooted humour which will influence and lighten our experiences this year, should we let it! Although Rabbits appear soft and gentle they also have a hidden strength and agility. The deeper more complex nature of Rabbit is why in Asian cultures revere their influences. Tuning into their qualities and applying them in difficult or challenging situations in 2023 is a clue that will broaden our abilities to cope.

Rabbits have a certain charisma and are great story tellers and teachers. They gather information on a deep level, so when they share, they can be trusted to know what they talk about. The Water Element accentuates this quality and is especially true of Water Rabbits who turn 60 in 2023. Their penetrating wisdom and gentle energy is much needed in this ever changing world.

Rabbits pay close attention to details, so they have a patient resolve. Ever aware of how they present in the world you will always find them well dressed and savvy. Key in understanding the true nature of Rabbits is knowing that their charm, style and knowledge can mask insecurities, motivations and thoughts. Rabbits are known to keep their cards close to their chest, never revealing all. This astute type of ‘discernment’ is something that should take note of as it it is a way of practising a more conservative approach. Another a subtle lesson for 2023.

Although a contrast to the ‘no holding back’ energy of the Water Tiger, we will not be pulled off balance in the same  as we were in 2022. In a Water Rabbits reign, we will have a slower, more genteel reveal of any lessons that we have to learn.

2023 will be an excellent time for personal growth, and if you are not currently on that path, take note. Be prepared to delve deeper into self knowledge, the shadow side and know how to practise ‘self care’. Relationships in 2023 will be a powerful mirror.

At times, such relationships are the only way to reveal what it is we needed to learn and progress in life This will be reflected in our intimate relationships with partners, friends and family or with colleagues. It is a year of communal and community interactions. In 2023 it is a priority to look towards group involvement, so working out issues with should involve group sessions with friends, colleagues and group counselling. It is the depth of our relating  with self and a wider overview, that will deepen our self knowledge.

*NOTE on the Bagua in Feng Shui ‘KNOWLEDGE and RELATIONSHIP are opposite each. Envision the infinity symbol joining them, and you can begin to understand why those areas of your home, space and office are interconnected, and when there is a problem in one, it will affect the other.

Personal Growth, Sensitivity and a Peaceful approach (*non violent communication) will be very supported in the Water Rabbit year. The peaceful nature of the Rabbit heralds a time for understanding & accountability and will allow us go deep into all interpersonal relationships. Should you be unwilling, know that situations will arise at home or at work to force the issue. Call it the discerning, gentle and peaceful ‘underbelly’ of Rabbit this year to assist you.

 The Refined Rabbit!

Another gift the Rabbit brings to the table in 2023 is its love of the finer things in life. Rabbits have style and appreciate the better things in life. They have a refined taste no matter their financial or social status. 2023 is a good year to explore and appreciate what ‘refinement’, means to you. Broadening your relationships to include artists, writers, people and places will open you new ideas. Know that inviting something different into your life expands energy. We often ignore, judge or take granted the unknown. Rabbits will show us how to pause and reflect, open up to and redirect interests,  so we find a deeper parts of ourselves in the experience. Bottom line is to keep an open mind in 2023  so we can explore the deeper part of ourselves through others.

Rabbit Year Feng Shui:

To that end, here are a few tips for 2023.

  • In 2023, it is advised not to embark in major construction in your home or offices.

WATER RABBIT YEAR ~ Talismans

01/26/2023

WHATS IN A TALISMAN ?

Water Rabbit Talisman are double sided and are meant to hang and move, with air currents and heat. Like Tibetan Prayer flags, their movements activates their intentions.

Talisman:

Any object infused with the life force energy of the one who creates it. A talisman is intended to protect, heal, or activate intentions for whom they are made. They are often portable objects carried on a person, placed in a space or installed permanently in architecture. Talisman evoke the energy assigned in their creation and intention, as a reminder to the recipient.

Talisman’s in Asia, specifically China dates back over 4000 years to Daoist shamanism. Talisman use Feng Shui is not a In Asia, the use of Talisman dates back over 4000 years and was specific to Daoist shamanism in China. Talisman use Feng Shui was not a common practice with Feng Shui Masters.

Placing such cures within your home or business when they are not a part of your culture, defeats their purpose.

As a western interpreter of the Ancient Art of Feng Shui, it has become my goal to create a symbol that embodies intention and reminder of what we need to serve out higher good.

Talisman can be hung outdoors but are delicate so under protection is best.

TALISMANS EVOLUTION

It started as creative expression and desire to craft a momento for the annual Animal and Element. Starting in 1997, I crafted 60 simple, fun, reminders of the years potential. As time went by I found myself tuning into a more etheric energy while creating these pieces,  creating fewer and now only making 9 to 12 pieces.  I will make them now upon request only.

2023 ~ Year of the Water Rabbit

01/17/2023

Welcome to the Year of the Water Rabbit :

It’s that time of year again, and we will witness the shift from Water Tiger to the Water Rabbit starting on the New Moon on January 22, 2023. The Tiger was a bit of a shake-up but lived up to its reputation as a fierce and fast operator. The more subversive energies of Water allowed the Tiger to ‘sneak up on us’, often when we least expected it!

The Water Rabbit is a different animal that will offer us a different experience!

I will share it on my YouTube channel, ‘Radical Feng Shui with Charlyne,’ so please go to the links below and subscribe. Doing so will guarantee that you see the presentation and qualify to win one of 5 prizes, which I will share with you during the Water Rabbit New Year presentation. Also, all subscribers can request and receive your personal ‘elemental prediction’ related to your Chinese Zodiac Animal, your specific Element, and overlap with Western Astrology.

The Book: Elemental Feng Shui ~The Art of Orientation

06/25/2022

This unique publication that serves well as a guide to  ‘Feng Shui for Beginners’, yet goes well beyond that. In its pages you will find a great introduction to the world of Feng Shui and placement as it pertains to the design world and well beyond.

Its focus is on the 5 Elements or ‘Five Elemental Theory’, which is core to all the healing modalities in the *East ( see below). It also offers a way of translating the basics into easy relatable concepts. Charlyne’s unique background in Interior Design and years of travel in Asia allow her a deepened perspective to share what is often seem as a mystical and superstitious practise.

Having been introduced to the subject in 1993, she started to incorporate this expanded awareness into her design work with clients,  for remarkable and transformative results.

It was when she was challenged to design a home for an Asian client using her knowledge did she see the need to simplify Feng Shui for modern design. Having to work directly with an architect and the client created a dialogue that needed more specific explanations.

Thus Elemental Feng Shui ~ The Art of Orientation was conceived.

Charlyne started to pen the book while on her first visit to Bali, Indonesia. She had spend time in various Asian countries many years prior. She had experienced Feng Shui without really knowing what it was in Hong Kong in the late 80’s. Travels in Thailand, Laos, and Korea gave her a feel for how the Buddhist culture created a reverence for harmony that was palatable in the spaces they lived, prayed and did commerce. Finally in 1993 she read her first book and was hooked. Not only did it make sense in design use but she felt she had been doing and observing its truths since she was a child. In 1997, she started her business as a Feng Shui Design consultant.

Forward to Bali 2011. It was here she observed the level of reverence the people of this island had for the sacred; in design, in foo and in the simple offerings made each day. This allowed her to dig deeper into the visceral aspects of what she had been practising for 0ver 18 years at this point.

It became clear to her that the Five Elemental Theory which is basis of  *Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Qi Gong, Feng Shui and Healing Traditions of China and Tibet, could be expanded for application within the Western mindset of design and placement. All things, professions and people have a unique ‘elemental imprint’ and it was this that gave her the basic platform for how she could present Feng Shui. Translating this ancient art for use for the western mindset aligned with her knowledge, background.

Professions based on your elemental make up. Can you relate to any of these and add more?

These excerpts from the publication are a cross section. From a glossary of Feng Shui terms to its theory, Charlyne takes you on world wide visual journey that ends up in your home space.

Feng Shui * Nine Star Ki & Tao / I Ching Readings

06/05/2022

Feng Shui is all about gathering information; its core is investigative work.

Evolving in this craft and practise as an Interior Designer and Feng Shui consultant lead me to ways of individualizing my work for those who sough out help and guidance. Creating charts earlier in my career provided me with a snapshot of each clients unique imprint. Customizing how to work with each person, family and situation allows Feng Shui knowledge to be applied in any environment creating harmony and balance.

Over the years, these methods of investigation, including Nine Star Ki, Tao understanding through the I Ching, the power of the instinct expanded beyond Feng Shui Design into Personal Readings. The technique that evolved served as way of guidance at any given point in the process of change. Knowing ones elemental make up and applying it to spaces could be backed up with understanding our true nature.

These charts and elemental blueprints are unique to the person and the space, whether it be a home, an office or piece of land. Harmonizing oneself within any location is what personalized charts and readings accomplish. Its where Feng Shui meets the individual and magic happens.

The Feng Shui Chart & Beyond: Personal-Feng-Shui-Consultation-Services

  • Originally a simple elemental chart was used to determine colours, shapes and interior design features that would balance spaces.
  • Next was a quest to discover the personality of clients via the study Nine Star Ki or Feng Shui Astrology. The insights gained give me a view of the elements that form who you are. It allows me to look at you through a unique lens and giving guidance in career path, relationship harmony, health, spirituality, travel and placement. All of which are core in Feng Shui application.
  • Then using the I Ching as per family members and their trigrams, I am able to assist clients with immediate questions or concerns.  The I Ching is directly related to Bagua or Feng Shui Map and  the elements that you carry personally. The I Ching and Tao deck provides me with a deeper look into what affects you in this moment in time, regardless.

A basic reading gives you a precise overview.  Further to this the Annual and Monthly information outlines the what stage you are in for the year and month.* See stages below. Particularly insightful for guidance in personal or business matters.

The Nine Personalities in the 9*Ki system and the path they take from one to nine.  The year you were born your Principle Number was in the centre of the system. The shape of the path is similar to the Symbol of Saturn, indicating how everything is related.

Annual movement is based what Principle # you carry. Each year these number move through the houses called the Nine Star Ki Path. The year you occupy will influence your progress and or plans. Additionally each month the movement shifts through the houses, influencing the overall energy of the year.

These are the stages the Nine Star Ki Path cycles through.

  1. Gestation Stage:  This is the start of a cycle, and allows the nurturing future aspirations.
  2. Germination Stage: This is where things start to move towards a goal but are still hidden from others, as it takes root.
  3. Sprouting Stage: This is the place where your plans become visible and really start to move into manifestation.
  4. Rapid Growth:  This is the stage where all you have been planning, whether it be for the 3 years prior or the 3 months prior really start to bear fruit and become fully manifest.
  5. Fluctuation: This is when your original idea can be modified and reshaped. You will fell a lot of energy in such a year or month but its had a cautious note and no big shifts should be made. Only if it is within a structure or idea /plan you are already working on. Not a good month or year to change jobs or move to a new location. Its called a Karmic phase and in such one will reap the rewards or feel the pressure of paying past karmic debts.
  6. Celebration: A time to bathe in the glow of your creation and all you have accomplished over the 5 years or 5 months prior. It’s the payback to a well laid plan and vision.
  7. Abundance: Now you will feel and reap the financial stability and rewards of all your hard work and planning. This can be business or personal goals giving back to you. Abundance is not just $$$ but satisfaction, stability and friendships.
  8. Stillness: In such a year of month you are preparing for the last phase and as such it allows you to take a break, step back and observe how things are flowing. It is a year or month that you will not be so visible, yet its a great time to travel and be inspired.
  9. Fame:  Now is the time to step up to the plate and be seen. The best time of show the world what you have been working on, and receive the recognition due you. Know what is visible is both good and bad. If you have done your work, prepared for this moment, the good always outweighs the mistake or pitfalls we may have succumbed to. It both the end and opportunity to see a new vision or take this one forward.

These phases are extremely helpful for planning future events and will give insight as to the best timing for any business or personal goals you may have.

2022 Year of the Water Tiger ~ Part Nine

02/16/2022

WHATS IN A TALISMAN ?

Talisman:

Any object infused with the life force energy of the one who creates it. A talisman is intended to protect, heal, or activate intentions for whom they are made. They are often portable objects carried on a person, placed in a space or installed permanently in architecture. Talisman evoke the energy assigned in their creation and intention, as a reminder to the recipient.

TALISMANS ORIGIN IN CHINA

TALISMANS EVOLUTION

It started as creative expression and desire to craft a momento for the annual Animal and Element. Starting in 1997, I crafted 60 simple, fun, reminders of the years potential. As time went by I found myself tuning into a more etheric energy while creating these pieces.

Clients collection of Talisman

The earliest pieces were no more than construction paper with wishes attached. The OX in the photo has a small scroll with wishes inserted. In those days the New Years Events were live and I would write specifically for those in attendance who wanted them; so customized! The simple envelopes found in China town, were perfect for holding ground crystal, prayers and sand collected on travels. This is when I got more into infusing these simple fun pieces with prayer and intention. Prayer + Intention= Magic.

Each year they evolved to embody shapes, colours and calligraphy. Created toreflect not only the animal of the year but power images and hidden prayers written into the layers of laminations. Featuring at times friends artwork and sacred symbols. The beading added another dimension.

ESSENTIAL ARE THE ELEMENTS

Due to the importance of the FIVE elements, featuring then in the talisman was essential.often the element of the year is dominant in colour, shape and vibrancy. The base elementlives a of that animal would also be symbolized and the all five represented in some way. This manifested in balancing shape and colour to include all elemental transitions.

What began in the late 90’s became an dedicated exercise and lesson. I was gradually tuning into the core energy of what a true talisman was even before fully understanding its power.

FUN FACTS & A MYTH

  1. The Metal Ox of 2021 took over 160 hours of work from start to finish!
  2. My first client & now a dear friend has been collecting talisman for years.
  3. Calligraphy that featured FU, which means happiness or fortune will often be seen upside down. The story is that a Ming Dynasty Emperor ordered this symbol to be hung on every door in the kingdom. When he came to the place of an illiterate family, he was enraged that it was hung upside down ordered them to be killed. The Empress saved the day by pointing out that this version read as the word for ‘here’; now meaning ‘fortune is here’. This saved their lives and started a new trend. *One of the 2022 Water Tiger talisman has its calligraphy upside down.

2022 Year of the Water Tiger ~ Part Eight

02/14/2022

HOW TO BRING BALANCE INTO YOUR ENVIRONMENT IN 2022:

INFORMATION ON THE BAGUA LOCATIONS THAT NEED ATTENTION IN 2022.

THE NUMBER EIGHT

As I share the eighth post on this 9 part series, I stop to reflect on the number 8 and its relevance within Feng Shui and the Chinese Culture specifically. It also is the number or ‘flying star’ assigned to the NE, where the Tiger lives on the Chinese Zodiac. * see Bagua illustration below.

Eight is the number of Prosperity.  It appears and is sought out for telephone numbers, house numbers, and anywhere numerology is applied in this culture. Take note and see if it shows up in your world.

water Tiger, Feng Shui, Chinese astrologey, predictions , divination

WHAT TO DO in 2022 in your environment to activate Prosperity!

First some Fact:

  1. The Tiger resides in the ENE section of the Feng Shui Map or Bagua: which is based on the compass. The NE represents Knowledge in Feng Shui when is placed over a home or work space.
  2. In 2022, the Flying Star aspect of Feng Shui Astrology places the Grand Duke Jupiter in the NE.
  3. In Western Astrology Jupiter is known as a benefactor. It governs prosperity and growth. Jupiter influences expansiveness, travel and positive energy.
  4. In the Year of the Water Tiger, expansiveness, travel and innovation are key in moving forward.

When interpreting the overlap of Western influences and Asian belief systems, the goal to simplify Feng Shui and its applications. When delving this Asian art form one discovers it is a many layered onion. Feng Shui is also seen as a discipline and science. Thus it has many interpretations depending on who you speak to, follow or study.

Having said that all suggestions are designed to open ones awareness to the potential and possibilities available in 2022.

About the Northeast:

  • The NE, attributed to both self and general knowledge is also the location of the I Chine Trigram, Mountain. It’s a location that monks go to, to find enlightenment this this location is one of contemplation.
  • The Northeast section of a home, business or piece of land should have the least amount of disturbances. Think of the of the sages & monks who spend lifetimes in the mountains of Tibet, China and India.
  • In Feng Shui, the Northeast is the location which should have minimal interruptions or anomalies, such as a missing area, large addition or primary entry way. Less so for a business that a home.
  • The NE are of the Bagua is opposite the SW. The SW symbolizes Relationship. Inner knowledge plays a vital part in how deep and connected we are in Relationship to others. The relationship between this two areas is profound. If there are issues in the NE, it will affect the energy of the SW and vice versa.

Keeping the above in mind, in 2022 we will be adjusting the energies for both the NE and the SW. The goal lis to minimize disturbances in the NE yet activate the energy of prosperity and abundance. The Key is to balance and activate both NE and SW without over stimulation.

  • First is to identify those locations in your home business and or land. If using the 3 Door System as opposed to Traditional Compass school stay true to that method. If you are unfamiliar with the 3 Door System, find these locations using a compass. Most smart phones have this option or download a simple free compass  app. Take 3 readings to make sure you are calculating them correctly. Find the rooms or spaces that are in NE and SW areas of a home, room or piece of land or property.
  • These areas can be influenced from one of three different perspectives. The first perspective is evaluating land or property; this is the macrocosm. The second and most applicable in Feng Shui, is evaluating the actual rooms in these directions of a home or business. The third, or microcosm would have you work with these direction is one room of a home or business. One would simplify the quest of creating balance and harmony  by addressing a small space. Perfect for a one room apartment/ loft or a room where one works.
  • Activating prosperity and growth is to insure these areas are in balance. When working with one room the elements must be balanced. * See post # 6 in this series for an ‘elemental refresher’.

Example of an anomaly in the NE area, when the Bagua is placed over a square space (room, house or land).

The devil is in the details:

THE NORTH WEST:

  • Determine if the area is functional and clutter free?  If not, that is where you start.
  • If the space is overactive, such as the entrance to a home, a simple but welcoming space is optimal.  Organize personal belongings, and make sure there is proper lighting, functional yet not glaring.
  • If a business entry, make sure it is visible, well marked and engaging. The exterior of the business reflects the interior; both are equally important.
  • If the NE is the entry to your property, ensure it is free from garbage, clutter and is well defined.
  • Should the NE be a quiet area of your home, you are lucky. Make sure colours are balances and pleasing.
  • If designing a home or business this is not a location for a home office, entrance, garage or kitchen. Its a better location for a meditation space, bedroom or library.

The object is to beautify and balance the NE area without over stimulating it. A subtle activation that brings attention to the area can be achieved by placing a plant or flowers there. Attending to a ‘new plant’, especially one that can handle the lower light of a NE direction, serves to keep ‘attention on an intention’; that of prosperity and growth.

THE SOUTH WEST :

  • check the location to make sure this area is in balance with the rest of the home or office space. If it is missing such as an L shaped may create then the area should be an outdoor living space.
  • The relationship area should reflect harmony in your relationships. Photos of loved ones, partners and family and friends are optimal here.
  • It is an earth area and should feel grounded, with heavy pieces of furniture. Balance is key.
  • Also make sure the space is functional , clean and well cared for.
  • Place coins in this location to optimize prosperity. It will active energies in the NW without stimulating it.
