What we can do in a Horse Year

I cannot emphasize enough that we need to take a pause in a Fire Horse Year! The energy of the this fiesta Horse arrived Feb 17th and not one after Mercury goes into retrograde on Feb 26. This will feel like a bit of a push pull! For many at this point in time so much may be happening in our environment that seemingly ‘speed up events’. Many will ‘feel’ this sense of motion and possibly tumultuous momentum. Whether or not this is our reality or not.

It is my sense that we need to take many pauses and observe first. Practice taking a deep breath and focusing before reacting or responding to any and all stimulus around us. At time we can choose this stimulus. In other situations we cannot. Monitor what you can say NO to and what is required for your life to flow. Humans respond to what is around us: this is called field energy. A normal vibrational reaction to the seen and the unseen world.

Last year, under the influence of the Wood Snake, things happened and we felt the impact. Only then did we respond to the energy. This year FIRE HORSE we feel like we are actually MOVING but it is actually what is happening around us ( the filed energy) which is dynamic and highly vibrational. We can choose to check in; breath in and out a few times and before we shift gears.

I have already been put to the test! Within a few days of the Fire Horse taking control and with the energy of the NEW MOON I found myself in situations where my response had to shift in order to maintain a sense of JOY. At first it felt like things were happening to me. Some of these events were well thought out in the months ahead and I thought I had it sorted. THEN under circumstance of which I had no control of in the moment, although with a bit of FORE thought, I could have , Shite hit the fan. 

I had to look at what I was responsible for . Just because I planned it out a certain way, and spent hours doing so , events shifted and blew up in may face.

And YES, I felt like a fool; and although I ‘d made contractual arrangements to be covered, things happened that shifted the realities. I then had a choice ~ Do I continue to berate myself and inability to ’see and do in the moment’ or realize at this point

 I could do nothing OR 

I could be angry

I could be sad 

I could be a victim ( to myself ) 

I could get depressed 

Which, had I lingered in any of the above; I would be sealing my fate in the belief that the Fire Horse year will be like this. Thus adopting a mentality that stems from a place of fear and or negativity.

We have so many reasons to be sad, fearful and negative at this point in time. It will take courage, foresight and support to move beyond to create the realities that align with us.

A FIRE HORSE year will literally feel like we have been thrown in the FIRE. It will be up to us to step gently out and realize this in only part of our realities. Adopt the attitude that Fire purifies and nurtures and that we always have choice

Horse Mythology 2026

Horse mythology spans the globe and many cultures. Of the Celtic, Greek, Norse, Hindu and Chinese Horses I am most familiar with the ‘Kelties’ of The Celtic Welsh tradition and the Pegasus of the Celtic / Roman traditions. The Asian winged ‘Heavenly Horse’ is familiar in visuals but not for me in name; which is Tianma. The Turks have a similar winged creature called Tulpar. The Norse version is an 8 legged steed, belonged to the GOD Odin and was born on Mount Loki. 

Living near the Valhalla Mountains in BC these names and mythologies for me are the closest. These mountains regally take the names of the Norse gods and respect is felt whenever you see the magnificent Valhalla’s or travel in them. Access is minimal which also gives this range a mythical presence. * Photo 

Horses have been symbols of divinity, fertility, and in some cultures guides to the afterlife. Horses represent speed , strength, and cosmic energy and bridge the gap between the Gods, humans and the underworld. Thus they become a bridge between conscious and unconscious realms in Jungian psychology. 

I the Hindu cuture the actual Horse symbol has a human body and horse head, and is assigned intellect as a key quality . This crossover is also mirrored in Slavic cultures but with the reverse. Horse body and human head.

Horse mythology spans global cultures, portraying horses as divine steeds, symbols of fertility, and guiding souls to the afterlife. Key figures include Sleipnir (Norse), Pegasus (Greek), Epona (Celtic), and Tianma (Chinese), representing speed, strength, and cosmic power. They often bridge the gap between gods, humans, and the underworld. Hayagriva of the Hindu culture has a horse body and a human head. The intellect is thus anchored this mythical beast.

I choose to show this particular Horse Symbol as it is tied to the intelligence of the Horse. Horse people and horse lovers will attest to the connection between man and beast. It’s as if Horse wisdom intuits mans needs before it does. An amazing quality yet sure to bring an even bigger punch to the impact of the Fire Horse Year!
